10th Annual Independent Music Awards Winners Announced!

March 29, 2011 – Flying Lotus, Melissa Auf der Maur, Pokey La Farge and The South City Three, Little Miss Higgins, Christopher Tin, and Jackson Browne and David Lindley are among the diverse self-released and independent label talent named today by Music Resource Group (MRG) as the Judge-determined Winners of The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential awards program for fans and bands.
The Winners in more than 70 Song, Album, Music Video and Design categories winnowed from thousands of submissions from around the globe, were determined by a panel of 62 influential music industry pros including Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, Seal, Aimee Mann, Ozzy Osbourne, Bettye LaVette, Jim Lauderdale, Arturo Sandoval, Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour), Bill Bragin (Lincoln Center), Anthony DeCurtis (Rolling Stone), Pat McGuire (Filter Magazine) and Evan Schlansky (American Songwriter).

Fan Online Voting Will Determine The 10th IMA Vox Pop Winners
Music fans have until July 11th to champion their favorite Nominees and determine The 10th IMA Vox Pop Winners by voting online at www.IndependentMusicAwards.com/imanominee/10th.
Since the 324 Nominees were announced on February 15, more than 14,000 music fans have cast their votes. The fan-selected Winners will benefit from additional IMA marketing support.
Artistry Has Its Awards
For more than a decade, artists and labels from around the world have found new fans and prominence through The Independent Music Awards.
Produced by Music Resource Group, publisher of the popular industry contact database The Musician’s Atlas, The IMAs leverages its unrivaled access to performance, promotion and distribution outlets to connect Winners and Nominees to new audiences and revenue opportunities.
The program receives submissions from artists previously on major labels as well as self-released and indie label talent from more than 70 countries on six continents.

Gina Cimmelli & Gina’s Picture Show are a great band I have seen often. Singer/songwriter Gina and band members Jeni Magana, Mat Weber, Mat Coser & Stoddy Blackall put on a great show. They are playing Arlene’s Grocery, 95 Stanton St. NYC this month. If you are in the neighborhood come look them up Mondays @ 8PM.
