Front-End Web Designer/Site Manager

Overview

Established boutique music marketing company is re-shaping the music industry and seeks an“ artistic tech-guru” to help us make our exciting portfolio of music, artists and media-related products a worldwide phenomenon. We’ve spent the last decade building a roster of award-winning independent artists and A-list judges and now are bringing them to exciting new platforms.

As our Front-End Web Designer/Site Manager, you will oversee our digital platforms & web content, manage our email lists, update our design and technology as needed, and create eye-catching B2B & B2C promotional materials, online banners and print materials. And, of course improve, as necessary, all related internal processes.

You are a web 2.0 self-starter who knows web, email and social media best practices, works well autonomously and as part of a team, is creative, flexible, detail-oriented and thrives on multi-tasking.

Headquartered in a large, renovated open warehouse space with all the amenities just 10 miles outside of NYC’s concrete jungle, we’re easily reached by car and mass transit. We are a tight-knit team who work in a casual but fast-paced environment.

Core Applicant Requirements Include

  • A college degree required
  • 2-5 years experience working in web project management, online content development, and/or online editorial. Online editorial experience with a major media property is highly desired
  • Strong proficiency in front-end programming languages & content management systems (Flash, HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, WordPress)
  • Understanding of user-interface/user-experience design. Experience using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver or GIMP will be highly useful and necessary
  • Strong Understanding of meta tagging & search engine optimization best practices
  • A passion for using digital media to help grow a brand online, fluency in the digital space with an understanding of digital media trends & emerging technologies

Core Job Functions Will Include

  • Oversee new product builds & site updates from the requirements phase through the development lifecycle while managing any external vendors as necessary
  • Help plan/execute traffic driving initiatives (email marketing, display banner advertising, search engine marketing, social media tie-ins, etc)
  • Create/execute graphic designs for use on our sites, in html emails & print ads
  • Creating actionable reports on website & email performance
  • Supporting all MRG staff in day to day usage of all digital technologies
  • Representing MRG at internal and external meetings as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Will be a whiz with front-end languages & software packages and be unafraid to take on new challenges
  • Will be a results oriented, innovative team player who is used to working in a deadline-driven environment and managing multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Will be able to analyze large data sets & make recommendations to optimize content performance and positively impact company goals
  • Will proactively identify new digital partners and promotional strategies to raise awareness of the IMAs
  • Will be familiar with working with all video formats, encoding & compression for use on digital platforms
  • Will understand digital platform capabilities and provide input to help shape site evolution & define any software product requirements as needed
