Influences: Well at the moment I can’t say I listen to a whole lot of music actually, if so mostly instrumental music, jazz, recently I have had a bit of a habit surfing on Youtube listening to music such as Weather Report, Brad Mehldau etc, mostly kind of jazz oriented stuff. I have listened to various genres through the years, to what I consider good music simply put. You know sometimes it was a bit of what you might label as Singer/Songwriter music like Shawn Colvin, Bruce Springsteen and Marc Cohn. Some other time it could be soul music from the seventies like for example Donny Hathaway. Other times jazz, pop music, worship music. I can enjoy good film music, good soundtracks etc.
Describe your nominated work: “It is your grace” is a ballad with grand piano and vocals, the lyrics are about the grace and love of God. Sacred Love are ten songs in the pop genre. Some softer songs evolving around singing and playing the piano, other more up tempo. Well, I prefer not to describe my own music too much but to let the ones listening get their own picture.
Why did you choose to submit this work to The 10th IMA’s? Well, so the music could reach more people that would be interested in my music. Did you use any unusual effects or instruments in this recording? No, bass, keyboards, guitars, drums and some programming. Nothing unusual I think.
Are there any songs you wish you wrote? I don’t think that way.
Do you have any rituals before you go on stage? I pray. I usually want to be by myself right before to focus. But it depends.
Should music be free? No, but sometimes it’s ok I think, if the artist is ok with it. Could be for promotion etc.
How has digital affected your career? I don´t know really. Well, maybe the social networks and streaming has made it easier for people in other countries to listen to my music.
Are digital singles vs. full albums the future of music? I think maybe both.
