What’s the meaning of your band name? Were there any other contenders?: I favor the season itself, and it provides an endless amount of inspiration for me personally.
Describe your nominated work?: “Feast of the Dead” is a brief story that describes the birth of Halloween from long ago when people actually feared the dead would return to claim the bodies of the living.
Why did you choose to submit this work to The 10th IMA’s?: Some trusty friends in the business recommended it.
Did you use any unusual effects or instruments in this recording?: Had a couple demons come up from the underworld to do some guest vocals. Used drumsticks made of human bone. Guitar strings made of human hair, you know…typical evil stuff.
Were there any happy accidents while in the studio, or did everything go as planned?: If everything went as planned in the studio, hell would freeze over.
Did fans help you fund this project?: No, he was out of town and lives on welfare.
Who’s sitting in your audience?: Psychiatric ward guards with straight jackets and handcuffs.
What makes your fans unique?: They are brutally honest and very devoted to the genre.
Are there any songs you wish you wrote?: “Show Me the Way to Go Home” from the movie Jaws
What artists are you listening to that would surprise your fans: Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond
What is your dream show lineup: Lots of dead musicians back to life as zombies.
Do you have any back stage rituals/routines before you go on stage?: Sacrificing old VHS tapes.
Should music be free?: Only bad music, such as Autumns Eyes.
How has digital affected your career?: It’s the standard now. In an age where so much technology is at your fingertips, its absurd how many people still strive for “vintage” everything as opposed to embracing the technology of today and beyond.
Are digital singles vs. full albums the future?: No.

Biography:
Leading a new season in music, Dan runs a new, cutting edge solo metal project named Autumns Eyes. A deep combination of heavy metal, classic rock, and unique sound effects with an abundance of ultimate creativity and artistic direction similar to the great film composer Danny Elfman. Such bands as In Flames, Type O Negative, Dream Theater, Dimmu Borgir, and many other greats join the ranks of inspiration that make up what has become a revolutionary new approach to music. New sound. High Energy. A new season has come.
