ARTIST BIO:

In Presenting their first album titled “Beats on Canvas”, the Montreal musical trio of the same name composed of Martin and Dominique Bernard and Catherine Latendresse, makes paintings come alive through the music they inspire… The music of these three young and prolific musicians of Haitian and Quebec descent has the peculiarity of transposing visual mediums into musical soundscapes. Indeed, Marc-Philippe Bernard, and autodidact painter has one day wanted to translate into images his experiences and ideologies evoked by his countless travels through different cultures and continents. Beats on Canvas immerses the listener into the imagination of these experiences in combining the solemnity of classical music, the richness of world music and rhythmic aspect of electronic music. The result is taking as the textured arrangements give us the impression of witnessing the birth of these paintings. Therefore, each piece of the album is associated with a different canvas. Beats on Canvas has managed to paint a canvas of world music with a hint of inventiveness and a touch of humanism.
