    Just curious… That repeating “poor boy” phrase in Stoneman’s song, was that original to this song, or as sung by him in this version, or did it appear first in earlier country/folk music? I have heard that repeating phrase in one of Joan Baez’s recordings, made of course much later but likely of an equally old song. Did she get use of that phrase from Stoneman do you think?

    Anyhow really enjoyed this recording. You are doing holy work son. Saving the soul of America or at least reminding some of us that she has one. This music needs to be heard, saved and remembered.
