WHERE WAS ALBUM RECORDED? I recorded, mixed and mastered everything at my recording studio-Phase Recording & Media-in White Plains, Maryland. I took the helm as producer, recording & mixing engineer, as well, so it was a lot of work.
WHICH GENRES BEST DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC? I say Hip-Hop and R&B because while it is Rap/Hip-Hop, I have a lot of singing incorporated throughout the album. There is also a little Rock, Pop and Jazz. I have some of everything in there.
IS THERE A THEME TO THE ALBUM? I just wanted to make this project a work of art. Just to paint a picture using music, telling stories and my perspective on life.
WHAT UNUSUAL INSTRUMENTS OR TECHNIQUES DID YOU USE ON THIS ALBUM? I didn’t do any writing; I just let the music speak to me in terms of what each song would be about. I just went in the booth and recorded and the songs took a form of their own. Since I recorded myself, I used a wireless keyboard and engineered pretty much from the booth.

DID FANS HELP FUND THIS PROJECT? No, but with this nomination, I hope to gain more fans and they’ll be influential on the next project.
WHO’S SITTING IN YOUR AUDIENCE: People that know and appreciate real music.
WHAT MAKES YOUR FANS UNIQUE? The age range is pretty crazy. I have fans from 6 to 60 years-old! The album is really for everybody.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO PLAY? Where the fans are!
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE? Finishing the album and being recognized for the hard work I put in by the IMAs. It’s a good feeling when you are recognized by your peers in the music industry.
WHAT’S IN THE WORKS FOR 2010? Shows, shows, shows! We have a show next month with the Warford Foundation which supports army veterans and single mothers. We’re working on a tour, and I’ll be starting production on my next album by the middle of 2010. I also produced a song called “Wing & A Prayer” on Grammy nominated artist Raheem DeVaughn’s new album, The Love & War Masterpiece, coming out in early 2010. Pick that up, show some support.
FINISH THIS SENTENCE: THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS….. In trouble. Sales are down, people are not putting 100% into their work and it’s hard for positive music to get any recognition.
