What artists and bands are your musical influences? We are listeners to a wide variety of music. Many non-artists & bands influence us as well.

What’s the meaning of your band name? We got it from a jungle-themed soundproofing blanket in our old practice space. There were no other names even close.

Describe your nominated work: A call to action.

Why did you choose to submit this work to The 10th IMAs? It rocks.

Did you use any unusual effects or instruments in this recording? Not particularly.

Were there any happy accidents while in the studio, or did everything go as planned? There’s always happy accidents in the studio. The trick is to recognize and keep them.

Did fans help you fund this project? Yes, by coming to the shows & buying t-shirts and CD’s

Who’s sitting in your audience? The best people in the world.

What makes your fans unique? They love what’s real and don’t buy into the bullshit.

Are there any songs you wish you wrote? Sure.

What artists are you listening to that would surprise your fans? Thelonius Monk, Steely Dan, Neil Diamond, Slayer, The Cars, Bob Seger, Public Enemy, Yes, Kool & the Gang, The Books, Bettye LaVette… we listen to lotsa music.

What is your dream show lineup? Playing with any band that’s gonna leave it all on the stage.

What are your guilty pleasures on the road? Record & book shops, good food, a place to stay & the occasional shower. Oh, and sex and drugs.

Any close calls or mishaps while on tour? Lost our brakes coming down some mountains once.

Do you have any rituals before you go on stage? We have a chant.

Should music be free? Music is free. Product is not. Artists need to make a living.

How has digital affected your career? Recording is cheaper, but not better. People can find and hear us more easily. We can be a bigger needle in a much bigger haystack.

Are digital singles vs. full albums the future of music? I hope not.
