Raphael Brunn, flamenco guitarist and composer.
With 19 years of experience under his fingers, honing his skills and performing with some of Spain’s finest musicians and dancers on stage and in tablaos, Raphael has chosen New York as his base to launch his album and break out of the traditional Flamenco mould. While remaining firmly within the flamenco tradition (virtuosic right hand technique on the guitar, percussive foot work, raw voice and strong compas–rhythm), Raphael Brunn’s music will surprise and please listeners across different genres, pulling the ears of not only flamencos, but jazz, rock and blues aficionados alike.
For instance, by including jazz trumpet in the mix on some songs, and distortion on the bass on another, Raphael manages to give us flamenco with a jazz, rock twist.
