WHAT’S THIS ALBUM ABOUT? If I was to state an over-arching theme, it would be “growing up” or “becoming conscious.”
WHAT UNUSUAL INSTRUMENTS OR TECHNIQUES DID YOU USE ON THIS ALBUM? Well, sitar is slightly unusual I guess? The drums on “Full Speed” were recorded in half-time with ride cymbals as hi-hat and then sped up to match the other instruments – created an interesting sound.
WHERE IS YOUR MUSIC AVAILABLE? It’s available on iTunes and other digital outlets and CD Baby in America and will be in stores and online in the UK in February 2010.
DID FANS HELP FUND THIS PROJECT? No.
WHO IS SITTING IN YOUR AUDIENCE? It’s very broad – teenagers will bring their moms and grandparents to my shows, which I love.
WHAT MAKES YOUR FANS UNIQUE? A lot of them like to give hugs.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO PLAY? The Bedford in London, Katuaq in Greenland and Hotel Cafe in LA.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE? Playing to a pub full of drunk Brits, whose home-team had just lost a very important soccer match and yet ending up having the whole place pay attention to the show.
WHAT’S IN THE WORKS FOR 2010? The UK release of my album in February and in rest of Europe in March and lots and lots of touring. Recording a new record in the fall of 2010!
