The Funky Mamas are a group of five women who, about a decade ago, came together, through the love of music and community, at a play group with some of their 15 children.

Since then, they have been shaking up the adult friendly children’s music scene, traveling around Canada with a dozen instruments, playing their blend of all time favorite traditional tunes and folksy originals with a sprinkling of blues, bluegrass, swing and rock.

The Funky Mamas get their inspiration from the glowing faces of the children, parents, grandparents and friends who come to their shows at festivals, fairs, theatres, fundraisers and other community events across the country. They are proud and excited to be part of the wave of Funky Families who are bringing their passion for playing music into their homes, communities and beyond……
