The Rowdy Prairie Dogs play Americana Music. Bluesy, Country-Rocking, Storytelling, Swampy, Southern-style Americana music. But these are northern boys with a southern heart. Their music takes you on a journey down the Dixie Highway from one end of the Mississippi River to the other.

In the last year, Robert J. and The Rowdy Prairie have had quite a ride.

- Releasing 2 CDs on the same day in April.

-Winning 6 MAMA Awards including.. Best Country CD, Best Rock CD and Vocalist of the Year in May.

-”The Revenge of the Rowdy Prairie Dogs” CD is released to radio where it climbed to #19 on the Americana chart in Europe and to #14 on the Roots Rock Chart!

The Rowdy Prairie Dogs are from Madison, Wisconsin and play original Americana songs written by award winning songwriter, Robert J. Over the years Robert has experienced several lifetimes worth of stories and tall tales which he conveys to the listener and is best summarized by reviewer Don Zelazny from Americana Roots Magazine “Robert J’s voice sounds as if finely marinated in whiskey and smoke, the band has released a killer cd full of great music with all the flavors of Americana on its ingredient list.”

Presently, The RPDs are working on their second record to be released in the late fall. The title, “Hanging Out In Barland”.
