K. Tighe – Editor-In-Chief, Venus Zine

K. Tighe, Venus Zine

While she still misses the rounds of Maryland Crab Cakes and National Bohemian beer, K. Tighe doesn’t agree with the city benches that proclaim her hometown of Baltimore to be “The Greatest City in America.” At age seventeen, Tighe fled Charm City for San Francisco where she attended San Francisco State University by day and designed light shows for rock bands by night: She spent six years behind the lighting board at the Great American Music Hall. Although keeping the lumens night after night is a habit she kicked back in California, she still loves writing about music in her new home city of Chicago. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of Venus Zine and venuszine.com, where she began as Music Reviews Editor, and is a contributing writer to the San Francisco Bay Guardian and the Chicago Sun-Times.
