Shelby Lynne

Shelby Lynne

Shelby Lynne began playing music as teenager in Frankville, Alabama as a means to support herself and her younger sister Allison Moorer (also now a country recording artist) after the tragic death of her parents. She eventually moved to Nashville and appeared on TNN’s Nashville Now in 1987, and soon landed a recording contract with Epic Records. Her first Epic recording was a duet with George Jones, “If I Could Bottle This Up”, which became a top-50 hit in 1988. She took more of a mainstream direction in 2001 and won the Best New Artist Grammy Award, despite the fact that she had been recording and releasing records for more than ten years. Her latest album, Just a Little Lovin’, released on January 29, 2008 — is a tribute to singer Dusty Springfield. She also keeps busy by acting. Lynne portrayed Carrie Cash in Walk the Line and has appeared in an episode of the Showtime original series Head Case. Keep up with Shelby at www.shelbylynne.com.
