The Apples in stereo

The Apples in stereo

The Apples in stereo are the indie-rock flag wavers of sunny pop. Formed in 1993 in Denver, Colorado, the band consists of guitarist/vocalist (and Elephant 6 collective co-founder) Robert Schneider, guitarist John Hill, bassist Eric Allen, and drummer Hilarie Sidney. Their discography includes eight full-length recordings and mini-masterpieces such as the Let’s Go! EP, a homage to the cartoon super-heroines, The Powerpuff Girls. The Apples released their pop triumph, New Magnetic Wonder on February 6th, 2007 as the debut album to be distributed on Elijah Wood’s new joint venture with Yep Roc, Simian Records (co-released and distributed via Yep Roc Records/Elephant 6/Redeye Distribution). The band won the 7th Annual Independent Music Award for Pop/Rock song. On August 4, 2008, the band appeared again on The Colbert Report. They performed their song “Can You Feel It?” More recently, American Idol’s long-running weekly Ford commercial featuring AI contestants singing pop classics featured a re-recorded version of The Apples’ song “Energy” by the remaining contestants. The Ford-sponsored segment has also included artists such as Britney Spears, Queen, Lykke Li and the J. Geils Band. Check out their site atwww.applesinstereo.com.
