WHAT’S THIS SONG ABOUT? Being an independent strong woman who can admit that she needs help every once in awhile; that while she CAN do it alone, she doesn’t necessarily need to or want to. But, if someone comes along, he’s gonna need to be pretty darn special. A superhero.

WHY DID YOU SELECT THIS TRACK TO SUBMIT TO THE IMAs? Someone suggested it!!! And it’s one of my top faves from the album. I’m very proud of it.

WHAT/ IF ANY UNUSUAL INSTRUMENTS, SONG STRUCTURE/WRITING TECHNIQUE, RECORDING METHOD DID YOU USE? The track was originally a loop of a sample from a song from the score to “Conan the Destroyer” by Basil Paledouris. We took the sample out and replayed it all from scratch with live instruments to give it more depth and body.

DESCRIBE YOUR AUDIENCE: Very diverse! Young teens to the elderly seem to enjoy it.

WHAT MAKES YOUR FANS UNIQUE? I would say the wide range of ages, but mostly their loyalty. Some of them became my fans from my days of working on Broadway and they hung in there with me and patiently waited the two years for the finished product (album) to come out.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO PLAY? LA and NY! My favorite audiences. I love all the venues I’ve played. As long as the sound is good, I’m a happy girl.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE? I just recently played and sold out Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

WHAT’S IN THE WORKS FOR 2010? Album number two!
