Eligibility
Submissions to The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards will be accepted from December 2009 thru the final postmark deadline: Midnight, October 1, 2010
- Any self or indie label (released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010) material that has been self-distributed or distributed by an independent or major label distributor
- Any original, copyrighted (with the exception of the Cover Song category) song composition released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any album composition with all original songs or a combination of original and cover songs released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any original EP released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any live performance album released (not necessarily recorded) between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any design, photograph or packaging created exclusively for music, promotion or a project released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any posters created for an artist, band or music venue to promote an event that occurred between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any songs used in a production shown in theaters, on TV, in gaming, or multimedia or other audio/visual productions released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any music video of a song or a long form music presentation released between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010
- Any website created to promote a solo artist/band, independent record label or music business company
- Any individual article of merchandise (t-shirt, hat, mug, bumper sticker, kazoo, etc.) created exclusively for the band or album being promoted
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Each entry must include a separate entry form with Category Code and appropriate processing fee
- Album categories: one entry = one complete, full-length album
- Song categories: one entry = two songs in the same category (i.e. two Love Songs, two Jazz Songs, etc.)
- Song Used in Film, TV, Multimedia category: one entry = one song used in a production shown in theaters, on TV, in gaming, or a multimedia or other audio/visual production
- Album – Live Performance category: one entry = one full-length album recorded in its entirety in front of a live audience
- College Record Label Album: one entry = one full-length album released on a record label maintained and operated by a University either in the U.S. or Internationally
- Music Video categories: one entry = either one music video of a song (Short Form) or one multiple song video presentation (Long Form)
- Album Packaging design category: one entry = one complete album cover with disc including jewel case, DigiPak cover and other packaging components specific to the project
- Album Art Photography category: one entry = the album cover, booklet or back panel card containing the photographic image to be considered with the photo clearly indicated
- Band/Venue Poster category: one entry = one poster
- Artist/Band Publicity Photo and Concert Photography categories: one entry = one 8 x 10 black & white/color print or an electronic file included with entry form
- Swag (Merchandising) design category: one entry = one item of merchandising (poster, t-shirt, hat, bumper sticker, poster, etc.)
- Band Website, Record Label Website and Music Business Website categories: one entry = one site homepage URL
Please Remember:
- Each entry must be clearly marked with the name of the artist and the one music or design category for which it is to be considered
- Identify each song title on The IMA entry form, and on the disc submitted, or in the online submission platform.
- A completed entry form (or photocopy) must accompany each submission
- For the Song categories, the two songs submitted must be in the same category; use a separate entry form to submit songs to other IMA categories
- For the Song Used in Film, TV, Multimedia category, entry must include name and type of production (TV, Film, etc.) and year it appeared; include footage or link if available
- You may submit as many entries as you wish
- Each submission form must have the Category Code for each entry and be accompanied by a check, money order or credit card payable in U.S. funds
- Entry deadline: Midnight, October 1, 2010
