Pete Wentz, 10th IMA Judge, announced yesterday on his blog that he has started a new electro-pop band called Bl4ck C4ards. Little is known about the group as of now, but there will be more announced next week.  As of now the only thing available by them is a clip of one of their songs, “Club Pop Heaven,” on their website www.bl4ckc4rds.com.  The website also includes links for empty Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace pages, where in total nearly 2,000 die hard fans have already added his project.  Wentz has already commented on the marketing campaign, which appears so simple it seems either genius or crazy, but with all the hype around an unreleased product I’m leaning more towards genius.

Wentz comments on the release of his band Bl4ck C4rds, “There will be no treasure hunt. No viral campaign. Just the opposite – next week things will appear on this site in a very controlled distribution.”
