Eligibility- 9th Annual Independent Music Awards
Submissions to the IMA program will be accepted from December 2008 thru the final postmark deadline:
Midnite, Friday, August 21, 2009.
- Any indie label release distributed by either an independent or major label distributor.
- Any self-produced, self-distributed recording.
- All submissions in the Song categories must be original compositions. The only exception is the Cover Song category.
- Album category submissions can have a combination of original and cover songs.
- Music submissions must be associated with Albums or Songs released between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Submission for Live Performance category refers to any Album recorded during a concert performance and released between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Any Album Package created exclusively for projects released between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Any photographic image used for Album Packaging photography, including booklet or back panel tray card, for titles released between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Any Website created to promote a solo artist/band, independent record label and music business company.
- Any Poster created for an artist, band or venue to promote an event that occurred between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Any artist or band Publicity Photo used to promote an artist or band to press or other media outlets.
- Any individual article of merchandise (t-shirt, hat, mug, bumper sticker, kazoo, etc.) created exclusively for the band or album being promoted.
- College Record Label - Album entries must be a full-length album released on a record label maintained and operated by a University either in the U.S. or Internationally.
- Songs entered in the Film, TV, Gaming & Multimedia category must have appeared in a production released between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Music Video Category: One music video created to promote a song released between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009.
- Any Concert Photo taken of an artist or band in performance.
- All material must be copyrighted.
