Independent Music Awards Urges Artists To Sing Out Loud.

The Independent Music Awards (IMAs), produced by Music Resource Group, adds a new category, Sing Out For Social Action, to the 2007 IMA Program that is currently accepting submissions until midnight, August 25, 2006.

Songs from all ends of the political and musical spectrum are eligible. So no matter whether you're for or against issues like World Domination or Drilling the Arctic - a Folkie or Rocker - here's your chance to tunefully broadcast your point of view.

"From the beat of war drums to anti-war folk tunes, music has always been a great medium for conveying ideas and inspiring the masses" says Martin Folkman, IMA Program Directory." Artists have always been at the forefront of social change and music in particular is an effective weapon". By adding Sing Out For Social Action to the IMA program, we hope that we can provide a larger audience for artists with something to say."

The Sing Out For Social Action category is the most recent of 19 Song categories and 18 Album categories included the IMA program. In addition to these 37 music categories, the IMA program also recognizes achievements in several music packaging, merchandising and related design categories.
